Iceland was represented by duo Two Tricky (Kristján Gíslason and Gunnar Ólason), with the song '"Angel", at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 12 May in Copenhagen. "Angel" was chosen as the Icelandic entry at the national final Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins on 17 February. ==Final== The national final was held at the studios of broadcaster RÚV in Reykjavík, hosted by Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir. Eight songs took part with the winner being chosen by televoting. The winning song was performed in Icelandic as "Birta".
